The perfect combination between culture and adventure.

Acatenango Volcano

Without a doubt, this volcano is a challenge for mountain lovers, its different types of forest and well-defined trails are an invitation to reach the top of one of the 3rd highest peaks in Guatemala (3,976 meters). From the summit, you can also observe the cone of the Volcan de Fuego. An active volcano!

There are different ways to visit the Acatenango volcano. Ascending it at night can very exciting, you could have the privilege of seeing an incredible sunrise; ascending it by day will allow you to appreciate the forest; camping is also a good option, nothing like a night full of stars on the mountain, plus sharing during dinner is fun and you won’t believe how good you can eat during a hike.

Pacaya Volcano

This one of the most recognized active volcanoes in Guatemala and Latin America. This friendly walk of an hour and a half might surprise you, its cloud forest and its constant rivers of lava are part of the natural mystique of this National Park. There are 2 main routes to ascend, San Francisco de Sales and La Corona.

The Pacaya volcano is actually a volcanic complex with five summits, the highest peak is the active cone called Mckenley which is located at approximately 2,552 meters.

Comes from the french word rappeler which means “to call back”. It is a technique to descend by sliding down a rope (with the right equipment) used by climbers, mountaineers, cavers, canyoners, search and rescue, and rope access technicians.

In Guatemala, there are many places to do rappel, we would recommend you the best place based on your trip. In one of them, you can even choose to rappel at night. And, if you have never done it, we will teach you how its done.

We have great spots to climb, even when rock climbing is not that popular in Guatemala. You can choose rock climbing and try out your crimps in Amatitlan or indoor bouldering, we have gyms where you are going to have so much fun.

Bring your climbing shoes, or not (we have some you could use in Guatemala). We include all the equipment necessary; you don’t have to travel with a huge rope in your bag.

If it is your first time, don’t worry, everyone can climb.

Guatemala is full of rivers, why not take advantage and do some white water rafting? White water rafting is a recreational activity where you go down the river on an inflatable, certified raft. All you need is a helmet, vest, paddle and a lot of teamwork. (We will provide you the equipment).

It is important to take into account that rafting can only be done during the rainy season since we need a current. In Guatemala, that means starting around May and finishing around October, if the weather doesn’t go crazy.

Fishing or Whale Watching

Interesting fact: Guatemala has the largest sailfish mantle in the world.

Enjoy a relaxing day at the ocean, choose from sport fishing or whale watching, you can also spot some dolphins and sea turtles.

Interested in either fishing or just enjoying marine life? write to us and ask about the high season for each fish, or include it on your trip and we will let you know what are you expected to find.

Have you ever been to a beach with black sand? Guatemala’s Pacific coast will excite you as you see that dark volcanic sand and strong currents, perfect for a surfing experience.

It doesn’t matter if you have never surfed in your life, you will enjoy trying to stand on the board and maintain the equilibrium. Plus, you will be able to enjoy a relaxing time on the beach for the rest of the day.

There are so many adventurous activities to do in Guatemala, such as parachuting, paragliding, kayaking, and diving, among others. Tell us what you would like to do and we will make the arrangements.
